Underwriting Product Manager

Location: Hybrid 3 days a week in West Sussex office

Our client is looking for an experienced Underwriting Product Manager to lead a team of skilled and efficient insurance product experts to support the growth of products and exceptional customer service to their clients.

Underwriting Product Manager Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop team members to meet goals and personal growth objectives.
  • Ensure sufficient staffing to manage phone lines and support the contact center, especially during peak times.
  • Resolve insurance and financial services product queries effectively.
  • Create reporting and process improvements to boost efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer experience.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant financial services materials for the department and contact center.
  • Regularly review external-facing materials for accuracy and compliance.
  • Analyze feedback from members and contact centers, recommending improvements.
  • Approve financial services marketing materials, ensuring compliance and evidence of claims.
  • Review competitor products and produce reports on changes and their impact.
  • Assist in writing consumer-friendly policy wordings and product documentation.
  • Contribute to projects as needed.
  • Represent the department at exhibitions and events.
  • Complete required professional development to maintain FCA compliance.

Underwriting Product Manager Skills & Experience Required:

  • Experience in working in similar role, preferably from an insurance background
  • Experience in product underwriting
  • Management experience including leading, training and mentoring a team
  • Strong knowledge of personal lines insurance, products, and compliance.
  • Experience in approving marketing materials for technical accuracy.
  • Ability to write clear insurance policy wordings and technical documentation.
  • Competitor analysis and insights reporting experience.
  • Experience translating FCA compliance into actionable tasks.
  • Excellent communicator, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Underwriting Product Manager Additional Information:

  • Salary: £48,000 - £50,000 base salary, plus excellent benefits
  • Position: Hybrid with 3 days a week in the office in West Sussex
